Lily Elise Releases New Single, “I Don’t Know Why”.

Lily Elise released the fourth song from her EP, OLIVER, “I Don’t Know Why” today! “I Don’t Know Why,” was produced by Daniel Nigro (Sky Ferreira, Twin Shadow). Free Bike Valet immediately picked up the track, stating the song “is a mid-tempo, neo-R&B swirl of trip-pop beats, gentle guitar strums, electro pulses, and a passionate vox of soul.”
From there, numerous blogs began posting the song, including Wonky Sensitive, HypeM, The Autumn Roses, City of Tenants, Cheatbook Mag, We Are Going Solo, Fourth District, and more!
Her EP, OLIVER, is about a guy she was with. The songs chronicle the relationship which was doomed from the start. The EP starts off with the single, “Generator.” A dark, vibey song that takes place in the midst of the relationship. The place where you know things are bad, but can’t seem to walk away. Following that release, Elise, released “Suitcases,” a rewind to the start of the relationship. Yet, with lyrics like, “you don’t want to talk to me, and I’m paying for the things she did” it’s clear something was off from the get go. “Taken” came next. A dark ballad. A song chronically the moment when she realized she loved herself, and quite frankly, her drive to become an artist, more than this relationship. Now comes “I Don’t Know Why.” “I Don’t Know Why” tells the time old tale of the back and forth in a relationship.
About the track Lily stated, “this is my favorite song on the EP and also the most honest. Listen on a rainy day for maximum vibes.”
